Enjoy the Estey Organ at the PAC – A Jewel!! Legend has it that Mozart called the organ “The King of Instruments”! We agree! Join us May 21 – 24, 2020!

The Partners for the PAC invite you to get to know about a hidden gem at the PAC – The Estey Opus 1429 Organ, which was played for the first time in Astoria in 1938!  It deserves some attention because organs are awesome. We invite everyone, from age 5 to 105, to join us in taking care of the Estey and saluting the King of Instruments!

May 21, 2020 at 5pm Several students from the Astoria Conservatory of Music (facebook.com/AstoriaConservatoryOfMusic) will build an organ from Orgelkids USAorgelkidsusa.org led by Sean Koreski, pan flutist beautifulflute.com and organist portativeorgan.com/. Kids of all ages are welcome! – FREE to participants and guests. Donations are greatly appreciated.

May 22, 2020 at 5pm Some of the students from the Conservatory will be performing in recital on the organ they built. FREE to participants. Donations of $10 or more are greatly appreciated

May 23, 2020 at 7pm Dr. Barbara Baird music.uoregon.edu/people/faculty/bbaird will present a lecture on the history of the organ and present a concert on the Estey Opus 1429, sharing insights on the Estey and its value to our community. Donations of $20 or more are greatly appreciated

May 24, 2020 at 3pm Jeannine Jordan, organist and her husband David Jordan promotionmusic.org will present “From Sea to Shining Sea”, a multi-media adventure telling the tale of the expansion of the organ into the colonies. Donations of $20 or more are greatly appreciated

All proceeds will go to the restoration of the Estey Opus 1429 organ. A gift of $50 gives you admission to the full series of events while supporting the repair of this worthy instrument! If you would like to make a donation directly to the Estey’s restoration, give us a call at 503-338-9132 or email info@partnersforthepac.org.
