Cascadia Mandolin-Guitar Festival
presents two concerts:
Opening Concert: Oregon Mandolin Orchestra, opened by the festival faculty. 7 p.m. PDT Friday June 9, 2023. Doors open 6:30 p.m.

Details: The Cascadia Mandolin-Guitar Festival will present two public concerts in Astoria, OR, featuring beautiful and engaging musical programs of mandolin orchestra music, from classical stylings to early American popular melodies and new music composed within the vibrant mandolin orchestra tradition. Festival participants will come to Astoria for four days to rehearse and perform.
August Watters, Artistic Director of the festival, is a veteran composer, conductor and performer, author, and educator. Faculty include Alexei Alexandrov and Ekaterina Skliar, both virtuosos of mandolin and the Russian folk instrument, domra, Tim Connell, a master soloist and mandolin ensemble leader, and Celeste McClain, classical guitar.
The Opening Concert (June 9, 2023, 7pm) will feature the Oregon Mandolin Orchestra, under the baton of OMO Musical Director Christian McKee. The Closing Concert (June 11, 2023, 2pm) will include all CMGF participants, performing new works by August Watters and others for contemporary mandolin orchestra. Both concerts will be presented at the Charlene Larsen Performing Arts Center in Astoria, Oregon.
